RADIO INTERVIEW: Tuppence Middleton on OCD and emetophobia

Actor Tuppence Middleton @twopencemiddleton spoke to @itsanitarani on Woman’s Hour on Thursday 6th March 2025 about her experience with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and emetophobia – the overwhelming fear of vomiting.

Since the age of 11, the actress and Downton Abbey star has navigated the grip of recurring intrusive thoughts, leading to compulsive behaviours like mental counting, checking, and hand washing.

Tuppence told Anita about the “residual rituals” and checking behaviours that still impact her daily life today, and what it’s been like dealing with the mess of motherhood.

In her new memoir Scorpions, Tuppence opens up about her nearly 30-year journey with OCD, offering an honest and raw look at how it shapes her daily life.
