EVENT: Medical Research Foundation- Public Science Seminar
Eating disorders often co-exist alongside other mental or physical health conditions. Researchers are also interested in the role of neurodivergence co-existing with eating disorders, with studies indicating that 35% of people with an eating disorder also have Autism or show high levels of autistic traits. Despite this, there has been very little research into the overlap between the two, leading to poorer treatment outcomes for Autistic people.
That’s why the Medical Research Foundation are supporting ground-breaking research in this area, and want to invite you to learn more about it.
Hear from some of the researchers involved with this work in their next online Public Science Seminar taking place at lunchtime on 26 November.
Professor Kate Tchanturia MBE, Dr Karri Gillespie-Smith and Dr Fiona Duffy discuss their Medical Research Foundation-MRC-funded projects focusing on eating disorders and autism. The session is a chance for all science-lovers to hear about vital medical research, directly from the researchers, with an opportunity to ask some questions towards the end.
