I was raised in a household that did not drink fizzy pop. Occasionally Mum bought a bottle of lemonade to give to some friends that would only drink carbonated drinks. However, if I was unwell and unable to stomach food, Mum would give me some flat lemonade. The association of being ill when drinking lemonade has probably saved my teeth as it is a drink I avoid to this day!

Resting has always been a challenge for me, but throughout my recovery I have had to adapt to spending more time in my bed. Even I appreciate the joys of fresh bedding!

During my stint in hospital a friend gave me my first pair of bed socks. What a treat for my feet they are! Recovery can be uncomfortable, painful and depressing, but if my feet are cosy in my bed socks, recovery is made a little more bearable.
